NETWORKING & LEARNING OPPORTUNITY

We embrace an inclusive community of female entrepreneurs who recognize we are all enriched by our diversity. We are committed to fostering an environment that advocates for respect, acceptance of others, and inclusion. All women are welcome here.

TSUTS’WEYE LUNCHTIME

What is the Tsuts’weye Lunchtime Connections?

This is an opportunity to regularly meet with other Tsuts’weye Network members to learn and share in an informal online environment. The one-hour Lunchtime Connections sessions will happen every second and fourth Tuesday of the month. We will focus on a different business-related topic every three months – starting with exploring the value of Diversity and Inclusion in our community and in our businesses.

Why are we hosting this program?

Many Tsuts’weye Network women have expressed to us that they feel isolated, especially during Covid.  This lunchtime series will be a chance to network and connect with other women in business and provide a forum to learn about topics of interest to our members.

What will the format be?

We will use the zoom platform to host this online series.

When is it?

  • Every second and fourth Tuesday of the month, (beginning February 9) at 12:00-1:00 pm
  • Feel free to bring your lunch or grab a cup of coffee to enjoy while you connect with other Tsuts’weye women.
  • The zoom link will be open at 11:30 am for people to drop in and socialize.

Who is invited?

Tsuts’weye network members and partners from throughout the Shuswap are specifically invited to attend.  However, friends of the program from outside the Shuswap may occasionally join us to share their insight or knowledge, and we also welcome entrepreneurial women from other places as our guests!

Do I have to register for a whole series or one at a time?

You register to attend each week. Send a message to [email protected] to secure one of the 12 seats available. You will be sent a unique zoom link to join the session by Tuesday morning.

What type of topics will be discussed?

We will have an exploration topic for three months.  Each week will feature a different presentation around this subject.

For example, we will begin this lunchtime series by focusing on Diversity and Inclusion. We have invited several women of diverse backgrounds to join us for a “fireside chat”, a different woman each week, where we will discuss some of the challenges and opportunities facing diverse women entrepreneurs and the importance of Diversity to our businesses and community. After a 15-minute chat, we will host a facilitated conversation.

Our next Tsuts’weye Lunchtime Connection series, starting in the spring, will explore optimizing the use of social media platforms to promote our businesses online. We will invite various presenters to dive into a different platform each week and share ways to best use and integrate online tools.

We aim to bring relevant topics to this forum and are open to suggestions for topics and speakers for future series.

How will I know what is being discussed each session?

We will update the website regularly with upcoming speakers and topics. We will also post details about this program in our social media feed (Facebook, Instagram, and Linked In), and our regular e-newsletters. Each week will share the upcoming speaker and topic, with a reminder to register to save a seat.

Are there other ways I can participate in this program if I am not able to attend the sessions?

We will provide space to continue the conversations from the Tsuts’weye Connection sessions online via our Facebook Group. Please send us request to join the Tsuts’weye Facebook Group via Facebook to continue the conversation.

Who will facilitate this series?

Brandi Butts, the owner of Granting Wishes, and Carmen Massey, Tsuts’weye Project Manager, will co-facilitate the Tsuts’weye Lunchtime Connections series.

Who do I contact if I have an idea of a speaker or a topic?

Contact Carmen Massey at [email protected] to share your suggestions.

I started my journey to woodworking and entrepreneurship a little over a year ago. I’m going to share how I overcame multiple barriers to discover a new passion and how I came to realize that I had been an entrepreneur my whole life I just didn’t know it. How I came to discover that I’m an artist!
